About the Foundation

The Allen House Foundation

The Allen House Foundation is a 501(c )(3) private foundation established to create a world-class house museum and study center, featuring Frank Lloyd Wright’s design and architecture.

The purpose of the Foundation is to restore and conserve the house through its adaptive use as a house museum and study center, open to the public by appointment as designated by the City Council of Wichita.

The Foundation was formerly named the Foundation for Wichita Development and in 1990 was transferred to the house museum project and renamed the Allen House Foundation. An advisory council of Wichita’s cultural leaders was also established.

In 2014, the Allen House Museum and Study Center name was changed to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Allen House.

The Allen House Foundation is named after the original owners of the house, Henry and Elsie Allen.
